Moving

We’ve moved houses recently and unpacking my stuff again was like taking memory lane for the past 10 or so years.

I’ve opened my boxes and went “My childhood :,D”. I’ve grown up with these books, and I’m so grateful to all these amazing authors who’ve made me fall in love with reading.

Unfortunately, my Kindle got lost with the other stuff. So sad. I was pretty sure I packed it, but it’s not with my stuff. Going back to the old house to hunt for it. I hate reading on my phone, but I will have to deal for now.

Fortuity #3 is chugging along nicely. I’m doing NaNo this month, so it should be fun and hectic as hell. Good times.

Hope you’ve all had a great Halloween! And candy. Lots of candy. 🍭

Book I’m currently reading:

  • Shades of Wicked by Jeaniene Frost ❤️

Small Update

It’s been a while. 😁

Much like For Never and Always, I’ve rewritten the beginning of Fortuity book #3. Something about it wasn’t working out, but I’ve finally settled on one I like. Writing at a snail’s pace, but still writing.

With all the the outlines, the routine, and focusing on the numbers side of the business, I’m reminded that it’s easy to forget why I do this in the first place—because I love it when what’s in my mind comes out and becomes words on a page. Then the story is no longer one that just lives in my head. I’m hoping to release it by end of June-early July. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Oh, and I’m lucky enough to be a part of a Romance promo group this May. Check out some of the books from this group below:

Promo stuff done. ^_^ Back to writing.

Do a backup.

I’ve never had technology randomly break on me. Unless you count that one time I dropped my phone on the pavement—its screen cracked, of course. It still worked.

Technology is my best friend. We understand each other. We help each other. So, imagine my surprise when my Mac screen turned black. I fully expected it to turn back on when I pressed the power button.

It didn’t.

This happened around a week ago. I had scheduled an appointment with Genius Bar today, and it (thankfully!) turned out it to be a software issue, since an image restore made it work again.

I didn’t have any Time Machine backups—I only used iCloud sync with Documents and Desktop, as well as Dropbox for Scrivener. Everything is still there, but I guess this taught me to always do a backup, because setting up applications and settings again are a major pain and time sink. But I’ve never been more grateful my current writing stuff is backed up in Dropbox, because for a little while, I wasn’t sure if those iCloud files would carry over.

So this is a reminder, too, in case you haven’t:

Shit happens. Always do a backup.

I’m Ready

I feel like a kid in the candy store whenever I buy stationery. Sad about this one, it only has a few pages left. I have new one that’s also really pretty, but I think it has a different quote.

I’m ready for Fortuity book #3. 😀 I have stuff I’ve written that may or may not be relevant, I just have to find the ones I didn’t write when I was half-asleep.
Determined to knock this off today’s to-do list.

Happy reading, everyone. ❤

When you need sleep

Case 1:

command+z, command+z, command +z. Save, dammit.

Why does the text keep disappearing?

…Oh.

Case 2:

The toaster pops back out of the toaster.

OMG.

Case 3:

thinks: Sofa.
types: Soda

Maybe I was thirsty.

Case 4:

thinks: intoxicating
types: intoximating

intoxicating + estimating?

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone 🙂

Last night a slug decided to visit my sister in bed. We don’t know where it is now and we were too freaked out to sleep! Lol. Still can’t sleep, so I decided to write a new post instead. Great start to the year, I guess?

New, shiny theme. Currently debating what to do about website header, but the thought of making a new one is exhausting. Decided to devote that time to writing book instead.

Newsletter is coming up in a day or two, when I have time to sort things out. New book coming out in a different series, hopefully out next month. I had a meltdown just before Christmas and thought I’d never finish. But it’s finally chugging along nicely, and it makes me so happy.

IMG_1216.JPG

March last year, we made a puzzle of this ridiculously raggedy landscape that took weeks to finish. Me, my sister, my mum, and my brother, we alternated turns whenever we could until we completed it.

I don’t know how exactly to describe 2017, but I guess it was like a whole pile of jumbled puzzle pieces. Like a desperate attempt to make things fit. Too wide. Too big. Too out of reach. But you know what? It has also been fulfilling in a lot of ways. And maybe the pieces needed to not fit, before they do.

Hope you’ve had a great 2017 everyone. Here’s to 2018.

Oops.

Well, Kindle Unlimited is starting to get me out of this hole lol.

2017-feeling-guilty-goals: Read more. Write more. 😀

In other news, coming up with book titles make me feel stabby. Imaginary holes all over this spreadsheet. ^^

Stuff and Promo

Stuff:

Started Sweet Fortuity novella, which should release end of this month if everything goes well. The hero is a minor character in book 2, and I’m just having fun with it. 10 points if anyone guesses who. 😉

Currently reading The Hating Game. Need to recharge and get out of weird writing funk. I’ve been meaning to read it for so long, but never gotten around to it. So glad I can sneak in some reading now.

Promo:

Something about book promos drain the soul. x_x Thankfully, this time, I have some help with it.
